About Us
Situated in the heart of the Namib Desert, some 300 kilometres
south west of Windhoek and bordered on three sides by the
Namib Naukluft Park, Weltevrede Guest Farm is the home of
abundant wildlife and gateway to the famed Sossusvlei dunes
and Sesriem Canyon.
Nestled amidst a spectacular mix of rugged mountains, shifting
dunes, harsh gravel plains, dusty prehistoric river beds and
endless Camel-thorn trees (Acacia Erioloba), you'll find
Weltevrede a welcome oasis of friendly hospitality at the end of
your adventuresome day.

Watching
Weltevrede’s vastness and
natural features provide an
excellent backdrop for creative
photography.
Weltevrede is home to at least 60
known bird-species. Exclusively
one can witness the behaviour
of the Namaqua Sandgrouse in
the mornings from one’s porch
outside the rooms at Weltevrede.

the current owners since 1994. Numerous man-
made waterholes have been established, some
requiring daily manual filling.

the farm. Regular Cheetah sightings have been
recorded the last few years. Other species to be
seen are Giraffes, Jackal, Leopard, Mountain
Zebra, Ground Squirrels, Kudu, Gemsbok(Oryx),
