Nestled amidst a spectacular mix of rugged mountains, shifting dunes, harsh gravel plains, dusty prehistoric river beds and endless Camel-thorn trees (Acacia Erioloba), you'll find Weltevrede a welcome oasis of friendly hospitality at the end of     your adventuresome day. Conservation Photography and Bird Watching Weltevrede’s vastness and natural features provide an excellent backdrop for creative photography. Weltevrede is home to at least 60 known bird-species. Exclusively one  can witness the behaviour of the Namaqua Sandgrouse in the mornings from one’s porch outside the rooms at Weltevrede. Numerous man- made waterholes have been established,  some requiring daily manual filling. There are more than a thousand Springbuck on the farm. Regular  Cheetah sightings have been recorded the last few years. Other  species to be seen are Giraffes, Jackal, Leopard, Mountain Zebra,  Ground Squirrels, Kudu, Gemsbok(Oryx), Ostriches, various bird- and  insect species.
